Summer 2012 Funshops!
What is a Funshop? A cross between a workshop minus the work and add fun, imagination, and creativity!
This summer we are offering
40 funshops for kids ages 5-12
Friday night TEEN events
2 toddler funshops
Teen art classes
Adult art classes
And, as crazy as it sounds an evening for anyone who wants to get organized for Christmas (yes, I said Christmas!)! A special planning evening so that December 2012 is a relaxed and blessed month (don't worry, no carols will be sung!!!).
An overnight for boys............
and, a different overnight for girls!!!
Descriptions of all funshops for ages 5-12:
Lego Mania: Build your own creations with 1000's of legos, play a lego boardgame, take the building challenge, race the lego race.........everything lego!!!!
Camping Fun: Are you going camping this summer? Come learn how to set-up a tent (bring your own if you want to learn how to do yours specifically); learn fun campfire skits and songs; learn camping safety; and some fun food ideas!
Art Exploration: Four stations of creative fun! Painting, building, drawing, and papercraft!
Games Galore: Old fashioned fun....learn new board games (both classics and new ones); learn ga-ga or maybe ping-pong or perhaps bocci ball! The fun thing about this class is we bring in older and wiser retired people to play games with the kids and the kids love interacting with our great volunteers!
Around the World: "Travel" to a foreign country and hear the language, taste the food, and make a cultural craft!
Origami: Learn the ancient art of paperfolding as you complete a few different and clever origami peices of ORIGAMI art!
Bootcamp: Challenge yourself as you go through a series of challenges that will perplex your creativity, mind, and body!
Puppetry: Plan and design out a puppet show. Make the backdrop, write the script, and perform the "show"!
Wacky Waffles: Come make and eat breakfast! We will be making creative wafles, learning to properly set the table, and (shh, don't tell the kids) some basic table etiquette will be weaved in.
Artilllary Attacks: Catapults, launchers and shooters.....need we say more?
Make a Book: Make a colorful and creative book that you can use as a diary, journal, or write a story in!
Kid Concoctions: Make ooey, gooey, messy stuff! Mix up some "chemistry" experiments, and other hands on fun! Even with aprons, clothes will get dirty (but, washably so!).
Decoupage: Learn the art of decoupauge as you create a project you can take home!
Drama Fun-Shop: Skits, drama, costumes..........
Creative Paint Studio: Painting stations set up so you can be OH SO CREATIVE....Try your hand at spin art, throw & drip like Pollock, water color like Georgia O'Keefe, or make an abstract! Most kids create 3-4 projects in this class!
Edible Concoctions: Not all you will want to eat but you'll be able too!! Play clays, turtles, and other crafty concoctions.
Paper-Crafts, Card-Making, Spirelli: Join our amazing papercrafts instructor as she captures kids attention with her calm voice and Welsch accent! She teaches card making, spirelli, and general paper-crafts!
Medieval Madness:
Odd Olympics: In celebration of the summer olympics, we will be hosting a very special olympics right here in Ashland......the "ODD OLYMPICS"! Starting with the opening ceremony, kids will be challenged through a series of fun and clever olympic challenges like hula hoop, egg toss, lego throw etc.!!!
Draw--PAINT---Create: An open studio concept with instruction as needed. Kids get to come and use their amazing childlike imaginations as they draw, paint and create!
CHRISTMAS in JULY: Get a head start on Christmas 2012! Kids will make a Christmas card, 2 gifts that will be wrapped and ready for December, and other Christmas surprises! The 2 sesions are back to back and will feature different craft/gifts.....so attend both funshops and double your Christmas fun!
Birdhouse Blast: Our first birdhouse making funshop was so well-received, we are going to make it a tradition! Come put together a one-of-a kind, limited eddition, architect designed birdhouse. Can't make the class??? You can purchase a kit at the Mill------suggestion, pre-order it as there is only a limited number of kits made up!!!
Obstacles and Relays: A series of both physical and mental challenges! Mostly an energy releasing class!
Colonial House: An immersion in to the 1800's!
Mixed Media Art: Make art that incorporates a variety of "ingrediants"!
Recycled Art: What can you make out of 2 liter bottle? How about ceral boxes? Paper towel tubes? Come to this and find out!
Spy World: Want to be a detective? Learn fingerprinting? Learn how to make invisable ink? Decode? This funshop will keep you in suspense!
Stamping: Enter into the world of crafting with stamps!
Tea Party: Not for girls only!!! This tea party will be fun and (shhh...don't tell the kids) and adventure into etiquette!
RUN, JUMP, and sit: A series of games and challenges that include running, jumping, and yes, sitting!
Green Eggs and Ham: Another adventure into breakfast making! Basic cooking, table setting, and etiquette!
Play Clay Creations: After making your own homemade clay, you will play and create with lots of fun tools!
Mystery Island: A Mysterious funshop.....you have to come to find out what it is about! Only for the adventurous!
Breakfast Boutique: Another yummy adventure into making breakfast, setting the table, and etiquette!
This is a Mill No. 3, llc event. All events at Mill No. 3 are alcohol and drug free.
